So my grand voyage around the UK had come to an end… in Ipswich!  I travelled from Twickenham to Manchester, Leeds to Bath then to Leicester for the last event, home to the greatest rugby team in the UK!

After months of work, I was off to Shotely Marina, Ipswich to judge the IT Pack Finale.  I was greeted by the best young brokers in the industry, although slightly hung-over from the previous night’s entertainment, I must say!  I reminded the candidates that this was their big moment and last chance to impress.  

The four judges imitated an X Factor audition, poised to review the finalists’ presentations.  However, the biggest decision of the day for me… was I to be the Simon Cowell or Louis Walsh of the panel? 

Having already identified the best talent from the regional events, I had no worries that the candidates wouldn’t cope with the steely interview techniques of myself, Jon, Jodi and Ellen.  As expected all finalists did exceptionally well.

Choosing this year’s winner has been tough due to such high standards, In addition taking over the reign from Leon isn’t going to be easy! But now we are at the sharp end… who is the IT Pack Young Broker of the Year?

Well I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until the Insurance Times Awards on 6 December and maybe I can get back to what I do best… entertaining Brokers!
